The AreaRAE is an ATEX-certified wireless multigas meter. It is rugged, portable and weatherproof, making it ideal for harsh environments. AreaRAE meters are ideal for hazardous material and other emergency response applications, allowing rapid containment of hazardous areas and safe retreat for teams and reading readings up to 3km away.

The AreaRAE Photoionization Detector (PID) measures volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the ppm range (parts per million). It can also be equipped with a lower explosive limit (LEL) sensor, an oxygen sensor and up to two electrochemical sensors for toxic gases and vapors such as hydrogen sulphide or chlorine.

An integrated wireless modem transmits the real-time gas readings to a base station using a commercially available Windows PC with ProRAE software installed. The base station can process and display values from up to 32 AreaRAE and/or AreaRAE Gamma instruments (or other AreaRAE compatible instruments, including MultiRAE, MiniRAE 3000, ppbRAE 3000, Systems Weatherpak®). This provides a safety net capable of monitoring a large area for various hazards. By leveraging advanced network features, the AreaRAE can deliver compelling performance in difficult radio environments. The AreaRAE is available individually or as part of the Rapid Deployment Kit (RDK).
